755 electrical screw up

Greetings all,
Great forum and Ive used it in the past to chase down problems with my tractor.
My 755 has been cranking slowly so I bought a new battery. In the snowstorm in the dark I inadvertently reversed the polarity on the battery. Realized my mistake but now I have problems. It cranks but no dash lights and no fuel transfer pump. All the fuses appear good. The battery lead sparks and something energizes in the engine when I connect the lug, even with the ignition off.
Any ideas on where to start? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to get my driveway plowed!

Try to locate a schematic diagram of the tractor to see what you burned out. The dealer may have ideas as well.

Probably the starter/solenoid being hit with reversed polarity..making noises.. alternator could be toast too.
Dash lights might be simply blown bulbs.

I made the same mistake on a Kubota once. Once I realized my error and corrected it, the system was dead. Turns out the main fuse popped, replaced it and all was good.

I would check the fuses before anything else.

All the fuses appear good.

Maybe good to check them for continuity.

Is this 755 the "older" or the "newer" model ?? From jdparts, looks like the s/n break for the wiring harness change (older to newer) is at 475000.

Two pages from service tech manual regards the electrical operation and tests.. as you can see, a long list. Where to start??

I did see some smoke from the alternator when I powered it up so I probably fried something in there. I ordered a new one and will see what that does.
