Hello and thanks for your time!
Just recently got it with only 650 hours. Was a NY state roadside mower. Was running great all week till the guy using it ran it bone dry. I figured he mixed diesel with regular gas... So I drained the tank. put in a little diesel, and disconnected the fuel line going to injectors. pumped out the diesel fuel. than filled the tank and made sure I had fuel to the injectors. STILL would not start. Nothing, not even a single fire from any of the pistons.

So I bought the tech manual. I see where it says to bleed the injectors??? Really? What's the deal here? I assumed at this point the injectors must of got clogged by bottom of tank sludge, or coil?, or I don't know.... Could a little air cause it not to work? Wouldn't the pump push the air out?

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the owners manual? I have the 55 tech manual, but not the owners; I don't even know what some of the levers do, LOL! I just know, >< and turtle rabbit.

Thanks!
Chuck

Bleeding the injectors gets the last of the air out of the line. Some common rail systems can self bleed but sounds like you still have air in the lines.
Definitely get the gas out of the lines.

Owners manual should be available from John Deere.

Welcome lucky. The 755 is old enough design it does not have self bleeding. Manual bleeding is not hard. Here are pages from the manual.

Ok let's start with the simple stuff , when you turn the key to on do you hear the electric lift pump running, this should be making an audible noise , ( Mine came unplugged once ) Then crack the bleeder screw , till the air comes out and it's straight fuel, you should be good to go and try to fire up the tractor

Agreed. My 4105 required manual bleeding (long story... 'diesel smelling' water, fuelling in the field). New fuel filter required.

Ideally, the procedure is a two-person job = one to do the bleeding and one to crank the engine (turn the key). There are threads here on TBN about making a work-around for remote starting.

Hello All,
Thanks for the words of wisdom. So let me tell you what I did to troubleshoot,
First I flushed the fuel tank and put in fresh fuel (just bought this tractor)
Next, I turned on key and fuel pump clicked, I opened the screw on the hose connection to the injection pump till no air just fuel.
I than turned the key to crank the engine. No start
So I opened the 3 injectors (PAIN IN THE ***)
Cranked the engine, no fuel/air I loosen them more, Cranked the engine, no fuel/air and more Cranked the engine, no fuel/air. Completely disconnected them, Cranked the engine, no fuel.
So I than took off the 3 lines to see if they might be clogged.
I was able to blow air through them, so I than removed the 3 injectors to see if they were clogged? No - With the injectors out I turned the key and the fuel pump pushed out fuel easily. I put the injectors back in, turned on fuel pump and got just a little fuel. I put the injector lines back on at the pump, left them off the block. Cranked the engine, and I got a few drips of fuel at best.

My diagnosis - the injector pump is bad? Maybe when it ran dry it killed it?

I found a used one on ebay for 300, (new 1350) but the manual doesn't tell you how to replace. It basicly says call dealer as the timing is set at the factory...

Is this a diy? or dealer only? I know the dealer will only instal new parts ($1350+tax) Labor... easy $2000 - Is there a better manual, instructions on how to change pump, set timing and whatever else?

Suggestions?

Its simple.. if you did a search for a pump, you must have run across a video on utube..

I am experiencing the same issues but I my injector pump is spitting ( more like belching) from 2 of the 3 ports on top of the injector pump. I have cleaned the tank, pick up, lines bleed the filters (which would squirt out like crazy) but minimal output on the injector pump. I am trying to remove my pump but it will only raise up 1/2" before it stops??? any suggestions?

There is a slot in the engine block to allow the rack pin to slide past..
Use the manual shut off to move the pump rack to find the slot.

You need to remove the rectangular cover under the pump first to disconnect the governor link there.
