758c BH bucket

Want to get any opinions before I jump into my next tractor project...
Here it is, want a smaller bucket for pulling stumps. Since my machine is only a 30hp I want no backing to it to get a little better rip force and leave as much dirt behind as possible.
So, I'm thinking a 8" "frame" with no back. Has anyone tried this and are there any negatives to it. I can't think of any myself except for needing to change out the bucket and most likely needing to build it myself

. Haven't seen one like this in the aftermarket.

Have you considered a "root ripper" instead of a bucket? Here is a rather long thread on the subject, I ended up buying one from Michigan Iron for my BH.

Hadn't thought that far ahead but yes, that is the idea.

Easier to make with the single tooth instead of the double. Thanks for the heads up on this thread.:thumbsup:
Most of the stumps I want out are smaller with a few large ones. My current 16" bucket just can't handle it very well. That and the need to create a bunch of holes around the stump to get it out. The ones that I can, I push over then pull out of the ground. Can't do that on enough of them though.

As TO Bud has posted, I too bought a ripper tooth from Michigan Iron and Equipment, they are a TBN sponsor-look at the Kioti section for their add. I have a NH TC40 coupled to a Woods BH90-X and since they had not yet built one for my model Woods BH, I supplied a few simple measurements and a couple of photos and it was over with. The tooth cuts through oak roots like a hot knife through butter without a lot of dirt displacement.
