I recently purchased a Ford 1310 w/ a 770B loader. On the loader there is a front bumper running between the right and left side frames. It is attached with 1/2" X 4 1/2" pins. My problem is the bumper comes up about 1 1/2" to 2" short of attaching on both ends. The bumper appears to by original (not modified) and the frame is tight to the front mounting bracket. Any ideas as to why the frame appears to be too wide? How would I correct this condition? Thanks for any and all help!

I had a 770 loader once that had a similar problem. It appeares that the loader frame at that point has some spring to it. With my tractor all I had to do was squeeze the frame a little and the bar would fit. It didn't take too much force, I could do it by putting my body weight into it. Also, I took out the bolts and replaced them with hitch pins, made it much easier to take it off.

Thanks for the info Frank. I bought the machine just over a month ago, but due to the weather and my wrok schedule have not spent much time working on it. As I bought the machine there is only one bolt holding the bumper on and the other end is loose. I will definitely go with the hitch pins.

Iowachild;
Did you by chance get the loader stands for takeing your 770B off?
If you did I sure be glad to get the meaurements. They were long gone from my 1910/770B when I bought it last year.
Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

No I didn't get the stands. I bought a manual for the loader off the NH site and that's the only reason I know stands did come with the loaders. I believe lots of stuff is long gone off my machine! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Sorry for the late reply here Syncro. I have had the machine in the garage rebuilding just about everything and as I figure problems I have posted here, I am trying to post what I found out. Figure it could help someone else down the road. Any way, the front loader frame was bent. It is "U" shaped was bent up in the bottom of the "U". I just measured what the clearance between the arms was, then put the frame in a press and pushed until the distance between the top of the legs of the"U" were that distance. Now it fits just like it should. I am thinking of taking the frame back of in the future and adding a brace to strengthen the frame in that area. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
