Power reversing 4 speed shuttle
Yes I know there are some threads on this, most unanswered questions, but some with good info. Hopefully this thread can serve as a reference for others while I search down the cause.
I split my tlb this weekend to fix the freeze plug on the rear of the motor, now I may have a larger issue.
As I was loading the machine to bring it to my dads to split it, it was having a hard time climbing onto the trailer. Like it was climbing a much larger hill, or was in 4th when in fact it was in first. After I got it back together after the split, it was having a hard time climbing a small grade. Also it sounded like it was hissing. I put a gauge on it and had about 100psi, regardless of low or high rpm, and the needle was very jumpy. I should mention, the trans cooler hoses to the radiator were almost dry when I did the split. Pulled the bypass spring/ball, looks ok, then ran out of time.
I was really hoping the spring was broken as I had read in another thread, next i will pull the pressure regulating valve to check it out, before doing the oil to cooler test.
Does anyone have any solid insight on this? Any Tips on clearing the pickup screen? The gauge needle being so jumpy sounds like a clue, as to what, I do not know. The fluid smells normal. I am picking up a Filter tomorrow. It's going to be pretty cold all week, so I'll probably get into it again this weekend. Thanks
