I just bought the rear auxiliary hydraulic line kit and was going to install it. Has anyone done this and do they have any tips before I start? Also, it appears it ties into the joystick control for the loader and then has to have a bypass line installed when not used. Can the rear lines be used at the same time as the loader?

If you mean the power beyond kit, I did install that myself on my 790. It taps into the SCV and other plumbing under the seat. The instructions were clear and straightforward. You'll have to take the seat and the panel below it off but no biggie. The kit comes with plumbing for both with and without SCV so there will be one pipe not used depending on what you've got.

Some of my banjo bolt connections were frozen together to the point where it destroyed the pipe upon removal. Fortunately, the one that got bent up was the pipe to be replaced and not one that had to be re-used. Perhaps hit the connections with some PB-Blaster beforehand?

The Power Beyond provides a constant flow of hydraulic fluid independant of the FEL. To be useful, your attachment needs some valving or such. Mine is used with my backhoe which has it's own valves.

Let me know if you want some pics or anything. Quickly though as I go on vacation soon /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

No I believe this is the rear auxiliary line kit, not the power beyond. I think it is controlled from the SCV. This just adds two quick couplers to the back.

Maybe you have to add your own 2 spool valve? I am wondering the same thing about adding rear hydraulic connections. You would need some way to control them independently of the loader.

You are right, this is the power beyond kit. I though I was getting the rear quick connect kit, that would just connect to my FEL connections. I got it on ebay for cheap ($41) still in the plastic bags, so I'll just hang onto it until I need/find a backhoe for it.

Thanks!

My Son in--law's Dad has a 990. They installed a power beyond kit, a spool valve & rear ports. It works great.

Put on on my 790 several years ago, only problem was that the three point didn't work when I finished. Ended up that I had not "burped" the system to purge the air. Crank up the RPM when finished to around 2500 and work the controls. You will hear a loud pop and everything will work find.
