I am seriously debating trading in my Kubota
B6100 on a T273 and have been watching the TYM section of these forums. I certainly wish it was a little more active but I understand that not many have these tractors.
Anyway, there has been some mention of the warranty being extended to 7yrs instead of 5. Is anyone able to shed light on this? Also, anyone know if the 0% financing will be available next year?
I would also like to solicit any 273 owners to provide any feedback that could influence a decision either way.
Thanks all
Mine has worked out great so far. Things I suggest you do if you buy one...
#1 - buy or make a 3pt weight box as soon as you plan on doing any serious loader work other than scoop-n-run. It is easy on the turf and nimble, but needs weight added to use all of it's engine without spinning the tires for serious ground work (and thats R4s, not turfs). With that said, you can take the weight off and tool around the lawn with your aerator, spreader, debris trailer or finish mower all day without messing up the grass.
#2 - take the lynch pins out of the front bucket mounts and put bolts in. I lost about 2 dozen of them working in heavy overgrowth. It has QT, so I'm not sure why there are lynch pins in the mounts?
#3 - Use the money you get from your Bota and pay cash for the tractor. The 0% is great if you don't have the money, but my cash price was about 1,200 lower than the final financed price. It still works out better than paying a high percent loan, but if you have the cash then lay it down. I didn't, so I have to pay a little more to save in the end.
I have had two minor prblems so far, both easily corrected.
The cruise control didn't work when I first tried it. It would slowly disengage after about 15 seconds. Chipperman told me how to fix it. It took two beers and turning one bolt three turns.
The 4-wheel drive lever got a little stubborn at about 30 hours. I guess I will have the dealer adjust it sooner or later, it's just the linkage binding up a little that makes you have to give it a good push to engage it. For now, a shot of that Teflon spray on the lower linkage about every month gets it working slicker than $#@!. I guess I could grease it, but I don't like dirt building up in places like that. The teflon spray actually helps the dirt fly out with a little water, it just doesn't last too long.
