Neil, it strikes me that you are wrong on this but I suspect your intent was to show that it is not a bumper to bumper 5 year warrenty, and to that point you are correct.

I do think that some people mistakenly believe that a warrenty is often a full warrenty for the time period specified. They would be incorrect.

However, most tractor manufacturers offer a 2 stage declining warranty. Many are 3 years, with the first 2 being bumper to bumper and the final year being drive train. Kioti offers a 4 year, and I believe that is a 2 year bumper to bumper + 2 years drive train. TYM ups the warrenty with 3 years bumper to bumper and a 2 year diminishing drive train.
Bob thanks for the clairification but Neil already knew that considering to the best of my knowledge he is a Case, Kubota and New Holland dealer.

I understand there are many considerations that go into the purchase of a compact tractor but, that being said I still think TYM has the best compact tractor warranty in the industry and it gives added value to the purchaser over tractors with lesser warranties.

Bob makes a good point. A lot of warranties these days are "2 stage". It is nice to have the longer drivetrain coverage but people should be alert to the fact that these Kioti/TYM etc warranties are not really full FEL to BH coverage. Indeed, for the most part the "extended" warranty covers only the tractor and FEL/BH etc are still only one year of coverage.
Ed you are bringing up ANOTHER good point.

ATTACHMENTS like the FEL, mid-mount mower or the Back Hoe are not covered under the tractor warrenty. Each has its own warranty and those are typically 1 year.

Every major brand of tractor I know of has some form of a 2 stage warranty for the basic tractor. That 2 stage warranty covers the engine and drive train for 3, 4 or 5 years. It also typically covers the remainder of the tractor for 1 or 2 years.

I do agree that Neil already knew that. But I'd suggest that many new buyers might not realize the little print that is in the warranties. Still, the TYM warranty appears to be better than the warranties I have!

Hey now... yea half a dozen posts later.. Yea, my intent was just to point out that the warrenty is not particularly comprehensive when you get into the later years. TYM certianly does offer more coverage than most.

I typicaly hear people pitching warrenty programs as "3-2-1" as we put it. We're getting back into my whole campain against consumer deception again, I think it would be dishonest of me to represent the warrenty of any of my products at a 3-year warrenty when infact its rather limited at that point - But maybe its just me.

Give me a break. I do not blame you for indirectly trying to promote other brands (like the ones you sell) by trying to belittle our superior warranty because your brands do not offer them as standard. And do not try to disguise it as an advocate of “consumer deception” All tractor brands that I know of have stepped warranties if you go into 10 different tractor dealers and ask how many years is the warranty I suspect you will not hear 3-2-1 in at least 9 of them and they are not being deceptive. If the customer asks what does it cover or does that cover everything I would expect the dealer to be truthful and explain what is covered and for how long.

Are you telling me that if I call Messick Farm Equipment and ask the sales person on the phone how many years the warranty is he/she is going tom tell me 3-2-1? One of these days I will have to try that. If you are correct please accept my apology. You would not be deceptive in advertising any of your brands as 3-year warranty. You have plenty of other features and benefits to promote on your brands. We have ours and we or any other dealer are not being or trying to be deceptive by advertising both the 5-year warranty and the best warranty in the industry. If New Holland, Kubota or Case had a 6-year warranty I would bet money you would be one of the first to advertise it.

Any one who goes to the TYM web site and clicks on the 5-year warranty shield sees the details you just posted. We have chopped enough ice about this. We can debate it at the Keystone farm Show if you would like. Until them I hope you have a wonderful holiday and an even better New Year.
