I have had no problem.

My trailer is 82" between the fenders. I recently hauled a full size K5 Chevy blazer with 10.5x31 tires and a Suburban (on separate occasions) and both just fit between the fenders. Had it been 78" wide these two vehicles would have had to drive over the fenders to load.

A friend asked me to pick up the Blazer he had bought since he took his 78" wide equipment trailer to get it and found it wouldn't fit.

It must be dependent on the exact configuration of the truck.

My F250 fits, my F350 is a squeeze and my suburbans had room to spare.
