I trust steel over plastic by 100x but steels will rust out on you. I've seen 1/4 inch wall on steel pipe rusted through in 5 - 6 years in the oil fields.

I've had that same type of steel but 12" dia. pipe 16' long buried for a culvert on our semi=private road for about 30 years. The county has now said we don't even need a culvert, but I'm not digging it out.
I have a small wet weather runoff section that I found an 8'x8" pipe on the property. So as to not have to drive thru the wet swale/creek/runoff ditch I dropped it in and covered it with washed out gravel/sand stone out of the bigger creek that this one Tee's into. It DOES clog up (entrance side with debris) but it is a ditch coming out of old farm/woods/scrap piles. I have had to re-pile gravel on top 3 times in 15 years & un-clog the front opening few times a year but nothing else. I can drive over it w 6K tractor to get to the other side of property just fine and 99% of time never get mud on the tires. It also was unknown of age when I dropped it in & covered it up. rusty yes falling apart no.

Got the drain pipes in and one 15 ton load of Afton stone... Need to belly grade it a little flatter and add one more load of Afton when my buffalo ranch guy gets time from his regular work. I ended up putting 112 yards of pitrun gravel/clay mix on the drive section, and 56 yards in my new gate area. I included a picture from the road of the section I had done last year. Next year, is the big area in front of the pole barn... if I have enough money...
