Buying Advice 80-81 Massey Ferguson 210-4 with 1820 hours

Hi Guys

I'm looking at a 80-81 Massey Ferguson 210-4 with 1820 hours for $7500. It has a front loader and a backhoe. Is $7500 a good deal? Until I started looking I never even heard of Massey Ferguson. As you have already imagined, I am a total rookie, mostly. I checked Google and saw there seems to be dealers all over the country, so I probably won't have trouble finding parts, maybe??? What do you guys think? It seems in pretty good condition. Starts right up and runs well. I'm buying it to dig a septic drain field, and a few other smaller things. I do want a smaller tractor because I don't have a giant truck to move it with. Does this sound like a good option, at a good price, for me?

I know nothing about the tractor, but I'd call a dealer or two and ask about parts availability.

Not sure on that one, but it's big brother the 240 is pretty terrible at anything other than ground engagement work. My boss has one and complains that the clutch pedal itself gets hot when doing snow removal with the loader!

I owned a 1982 MF210-4. Great tractor, sold last year with 1200 hours. Had loader no backhoe. Never had trouble except for front axle bearings, which I replaced 2x. Parts are a problem. MF subbed a japanese company to build these and company no longer in business. You can get some things online but engine parts will be difficult. Sold mine for $3000. I replaced it with new Kobota L3301, what differance 35 years make.
