Both the snow blower and MMM call for W90 API GL5 gear oil. The only thing I can find is 80W-90 API GL5 Gear Oil. Can I use this stuff, guys at the auto store say it is the same stuff, what do you think??

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks in advance.

Tom,

First if you don't know the answer to a question you have how can it be a dumb question to ask? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif If it were dumb then I have to ask teh most dumb questions there are. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Anyway our oil supplier at work stated that they are not the same exact but will work fine given the applications of gears. I mean shoot Kubota states in their service manuals that for the front axle you can either use their Super UDT or gear oil.... huh? If I were you I would use it and not even worry about it. Hope this helps.
