I don't think you would have the ponies to twist one. Or the ballast to lift and handle one well without a loader bucket full of rocks. No, I haven't tried it, but I do own a Woods RM990 (90") and it is a handful for a good running Ford 841D, both weight wise and in power requirement.

I have a TC29 and are currently pulling a 72" RFM. In my opinion this is the tight pkg for that size of tractor. The only bogging I have ever noticed was on really long uphill stretches, the grass still somewhat wet. weght wise my 600lb mower is a good balnce for the 3pt hitch with or without the FEL. Add the extra 200+ lbs of an 84" mower as well as the longer length and I'm sure it would definitely be out of balance.

I think it would depend on your terrain. My TC29D handles a 6' mower with no problem, even on hills. I can mow some pretty thick grass in mid range and full speed on the hydro pedal on level ground or slight inclines. But, it will not maintain full PTO speed on a long uphill grade unless I back off on the hydro pedal. Also, the balance is good and I can go up a 20 degree hill without the front coming up (I don't have a FEL and I have 2 of the small weights on the front, which I think is about 75lb). I'm sure a 84" mower would require much more weight to balance. On flat ground you should have the power, but hill might be a problem.
