First I adjusted the brakes. The right side still low. Have old pads off. The springs were on and seemed tight. The part shaped like a T that pivots to spread the shoes is worn, the bottom edge is no longer flat. I have a feeling that is why the pedal is hanging low. The other side of the T that doesn稚 come in contact with the shoes is flat. Can I disconnect the pedal and set brake from the shaft. Then rotate the shaft to utilize the other side? Or will the new shoes lift the pedal?

New brake shoes may affect your brake pedal height. Install new shoes and new springs if needed, then see where the brake pedal heights are and adjust if need be. Per the owners manual for the 801 series tractor, adjust the left pedal at the clevis to get the height to match the right pedal. Screenshot_20190406-153820.jpg
