841 Pricing

I'm looking at a 1960 unknown engine (as of right now) 841 with FEL and rear weights.
The ad says 12 volt, so I guess it's a diesel.
Tires also good from pics, and they say it "runs excellent."

i would not assume diesel because it is 12v.

My 2n is 12v.. do you think it's diesel?

Best to find out what it is vs guessing. do you have a pic? either side of the engine can be id'd as gas or oil burner.

if it is the correct engine for that size of tractor, it will be 172ci

rear wheel weights are nice. fel .. less nice.. but usefull, hard on the steering components.

post more details.

so far if it works and runs good, starts, charges, steers ok, has brakes, no major flaws.. it's about a 3500$ tractor here in florida.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm looking to buy my first tractor, so I'm not sure if this is the way to go for my 4 acre rural home.
I don't want to post the CL ad, because I'm paranoid.
He's asking for ~$4000. The pictures weren't that great since the FEL gets in the way.

Asking price isn't that bad but would go for less in my area. Power steering is a plus. 12 volt conversion, wheel weights, can't tell from the photos if they are the heavy weights, adding 1160 LBS or the light weights, adding 800 LBS. When you go to look at it since it has down pressure put the bucket down a raise the front wheels off the ground a check front axle/spindle components. Also check the axle carrier for cracks. These are not usually a deal breakers but can cost some money especially if not doing your own repairs and should be nego into the price.
