Tractor
Mahindra 3510 & 8560
Local Mahindra dealer is trying to find a used 50-60 HP tractor for me. Seems not to many available in 4WD which is a must for what I need.
He is taking a 2010 or 2011 8560 4WD on trade and has offered it to me when the new tractor traded for comes in (Cab tractor).
It is a open station with FEL and is "weathered and not pretty" as he describes it. He is firm on $20K. I have not seen it yet. He will service and make any minor repairs for that price. It is pre Tier IV and he says they are the best motors.

Any advice??

Where are all the Mahindra guru's when you need some advice  :confused3:

That's a prety big model and I don't think there's quite the number of owners to get you an answer as quickly as if you asked a question about a smaller one.

Be patient, some one will answer.

I'll answer it in part: it's a Mahindra, and Mahindas are good. what more do you need to know about it? :)

For something that size, it sounds like a decent price, if it's not all worn out, which it shouldn't' t be in only 3 or 4 years.

I dont know much about Mahindra, (but becoming interested), however, lots of tractors are left outside and look worse than they should. Mechanically it may be a good machine.

Wasn't really looking for one that big but it is a late model with a FEL and year or so on the warranty, The price beats a new 50+HP by several thousand.
Just because there is big HP doesn't mean I have to use all of it!

All depends on what you really want and need. :confused3: The 8560 is a working machine, that's for sure. I have a 7520 which is the earlier model of the 8560, 8hp less and a few inches shorter in length. These tractors will perform about like any other tractor in this size, very well IMO. But is it what you would like to have? This is waaaaay more tractor than ANY 50-60 HP model out there. ZERO comparison other than being a tractor. So if it's not to much for you, then it sounds like it could be a great deal, but if it is simply to big, then it won't do you much good. :mur:

What are your uses? This will not be very nice to even std heavy duty implements, big heavy 10K+ pounds pulling anything under 1000lbs is going to simply end up destroying it, as far as ground engaging implements go. So now you are into EXPENSIVE implements to be able to make use of the tractor's capabilities and not be constantly watching the implement so as not to ruin it. You can forget about pretty much any new implement under $2500 and very common to be in the $3000-$6000 range.

Not trying to rain on your on the opportunity , just giving you a heads up as to what might be ahead. BTDT as far as the implement thing, just trying to save you some money if you end up going with the 8560.

Good luck. ;)

I realize that the 8560 is more tractor than I need. My equipment is too small for it and bigger equipment would be needed.
I would rather use the 6' equipment I already have. Maybe I should focus on a 50HP as a maximum for my needs

Staying with a 50hp unit will most likely save you some $$$$ and anguish.
