8N 6/8 cylinders, or other conversions.....

Tried to search, but must not know the right words. Trying to find some info on other engines converted into 8/9N's.
I know this is a restoration site but I'm considering putting a VW diesel into an 8N.
I know, I know, just something I want to do.

Funk 6 and 8 cyls were the predominant N conversion engine.. however I've seen everything from chryslers, to turbine engines in them.

One of my customers put a small block Chevy (350) into a 8N and the computer analysis said it should run 130mph (theoretically). They aren't all that hard to do...what is hard to do is to find a decnt N series with a 6 or 8cyl to restore (have been looking for over a year now). Been to sale after sale and have found 2 and neither was worth touching.

Anyway, not much help with your search just thought I would share the story...
