which 8n you got? if it is a front mount, you don't do anything special... you flip the bail down, let the square coil dangle by it's power wire.. pop the crab cap off and let them hang on spak plug wires. remove 2 bolts from dizzy and take to bench.. replace points.. put back on.
.. spin rotor with your finger as you hand tightenthe 2 bolts... the cam has an offset drive slot that will line up with the tang on the dizzy as you spin her.. once in.. take bolts down.. 15 miutes if you are slow. ps.. owners manual for a 9n/2n and the service manual on all N show the funny method to static time the front mount dizzy using a straight edge and the 1/4" measurement. tip.. if you do that.. a 1/4" drill bt stem is a good tool
if it's a side mount.. you don't remove anything but the cap and dist shield and just put points in leaning over right front tire...
