9 hrs on L3000DT

Hi all,
Spent last weekend in the seat of my new tractor. Moved 5 tons of ag lime in to fields, rototilled 2 acres, and moved 15 cu yards of rock into low spots on the tractor trails on my uncles place. Put just under 8 hours on. Real happy with everything so far. Really impressed with Land Pride 1558 tiller. Made one pass at max depth in 3rd on round-up applied ground. Will need 2 passes for older turf areas which havent been killed though. La400 loader worked great too. Tiller provded nice ballast. It seems to be the perfect size for my application. I can see where HST would be way to go if used as a loaded>50% of the time, but I will only do loader work now and then. Marty

I think you will be very happy with your L3000. Mine has been great so far. You asked about the tiller in the other post----the King Kutter seems to work great for my mostly lightduty application.

HI, i have been looking for someone with a L3000. i am getting one next week. is there
anything i should watch out for? i am not used to a new tractor, my old one is a TO-20.
everybody i talk to says i will be amazed at what i can do with the new one, that the
old one could not do. well i did a lot of things with the old one. move snow,mow,dig,pull
stumps. they say the 4 wd is what gives more pull, is this true?

For the new tractor just read the manual and take your time with it the first few hours to figure out what does what.

I like my 3000 very much so far. Hydro would be nice for loader work but the extra $ went for a tiller. I moved 10 tons of lime and 40 cu yds of rock that first 9 hours. watch your fluid levels, as my transmissoin was just a hair low after the first couple hours. Let us know how you like it. Did you get a loader or other implements? Marty

YES,
i got the loader, a box blade, a brush hog, and a 16ft, dual axle trailer with the tractor.
it is supposed to be here tues. 7-31-01. can hardly wait!

this must be something to watch for, because after 2 hours of running, my transmission is
low on fluid. do not have any on hand, so i will have to make a trip to the dealer, and buy
some.

Mine did same thing. I asked dealer and they said to check for leaks in lines at fittings (weren't any). I asked them to send me some UDT and they said they did but I don't have it yet. I did have an ounce or to leak out the breather. Check for tightness on all fill hole plugs. Woohoo, now I am registered.Good Luck.Marty
