Had 900lbs of fertilizer in the hopper and didnt pull any wheelies. I was happy! The picture shows around 800lbs. 900 was really rounded and full. Too much actually but I had them put 900lbs. in the bulk bags because i though the hopper would take it. Just though you would like to see. No loaded tires either. See attachment!

If your on level land ok, but don't go up a steep hill with that thing loaded down. Your taking a chance but you weight is close to the tractor so it makes a big difference.

As I shake me head /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

A load high and heavy!
You've raised your tractor's CoG in about the worst place possible. Does that hopper have to be that high, or was that for the picture only? Well, as long as the load is static (not moving the tractor), I guess it's safe, but I'd really like to see some front weights, at least...maybe lower the working height too!
Pretty tractor, though...

It looks scary but it wasnt. I went up and down hills. when backing if I stopped quick the front end didnt lift. It was real stable and i was plenty safe. Hopper had to be that high for speading. The higher the farther the spread. That was the recommended height. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As long as you're staying away from anything but a mild grade and going slow, I guess you can get away with that much weight. But, I'd sure hook up the FEL for balance. If you ever do get close to the point of no return it will go the rest of the way over in a flash! I have a finish mower that weighs less than 700 lbs and on a 15 degree hill the front end gets light. That was before I got the FEL and all I had for weight was 65 lbs on the front. The 3pt will lift over 1600 lbs, but you need some weight up front.

roto,

Nice pic...keep them coming /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As far as the weight. I wouldn't worry about it too much. With the spreaders the weight is kept pretty close to the tractor so the front should have enough weight to balance it out. As long as you don't try and drive it like a race car or attempt to climb any steep banks /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

The Class II Boomers with R4s and really pretty darn stable especialy if you load the rear tires.

Have fun!

I guess everyone forget what there hitch spec is on the class 2 boomers Roto is well within spec and should not experience any problems with the spreader loaded like that. Nice looking place you have there in the background too.

Hey Spence! Long time no see. Nice looking tractor huh! I loaded that spreader several times. Spread 6 ton. Had no problems at all. Mosey, a mower has the weight back alot further and makes it seem even heavier. I didnt even hardly feel the weight back there to be honest.
