On the 905 Ford post hole digger, is the tip a screw in piece or does it attach over a shaft and get pinned in place?

I don't know the specifics of your digger but all the PHD's I've seen (for whatever that's worth) have a pinned or bolted on tip.

On the two augers that I have for mine, they both slip inside of the auger tube and are cross bolted to hold them in place. They have a shoulder that prevents them form being inserted too far into the auger.
