Was doing a little bit of puttering around yesterday when I backed up to my little 2 wheel trailer that had some remaining sand/gravel from the poles on the garage. Got off the tractor and started to hook the trailer up to the tractor, but I needed to back the tractor up about 2 or 3 inches more. I went back around put one foot on the deck as a step (does anyone else use it as a step?) about that time, crash!!!!!! Guess it is time I lose some weight /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. Since the mower deck was pinned up I knew this wasn't good. I looked underneath the tractor and the plate that the deck is attached has (well had) 4 bolts in it. I found one of them with the threads all messed. I had also found one about 2 weeks ago, but didn't know where it went. I called the dealer they were going to pick it up this week, but since the tractor was pretty much unmovable I found the right bolts, cleaned the threads up on the tractor and put new bolts, lockwashers, & lock-tight on them and tightened them down good. I'll also put them on my list of things to check when I grease and so should you. Just glad I wasn't mowing when it doesn't to come lose. What could've been a bad situation turned out OK, I'll call the dealer tomorrow and tell them not to bother.
