I gotta replace a front wheel on my NH 914A deck. Anyone have any ideas of a aftermarket wheel that will work? They are wanting 75 bucks for 10 dollars of plastic at the dealership:(

Thanks

Is it the wheel or the bearing inside the wheel?

$75.00???? Wow have they gone up. I replace both of mine for way less than that about 8 years ago. I think I only had two years on the first set but that was because I allowed the wheels to take on too much of the weight. My dealer told me not go allow them to run on the ground at all as they are scarf preventers only.

They are pricey suckers. I've had to replace the bearings in mine quite a bit. I've actually only had to buy one or two wheels when I let the bearings go too long before replacing them. So far, I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement that I think would last any longer. I probably should raise my wheels up some more so that they carry even less weight.

Its the wheel bearing but the plastic composite wheel has also taken a beating. Gonna replace the whole thing. Got the part ordered I found on Ebay. Not trying to be a cheapskate but I despise price gouging by company's when they feel they have you over a barrel.

I've replaced the bearing assembly in mine occasionally. The wheels do get beat up.....but if the bearing is replaced, they seem to do well for a season or two before I replace the bearing assy. again. The NH part number for that is AUB121865 and they run about 30 bucks. Hope it all comes out for the best for you. If you don't mind sharing....what did you get on EBay??

That deck is a floating deck. The wheels in the front and the back are for scarf protection only. The wheels will also dig in if too much weight is put on them.

Per my dealer,, on a flat surface after you have set your wheels to the height you want to mow at, is to gently set your deck down. When the wheels just touch then set your draft on your 3 point hitch. I even back off 1/4" when setting the draft. So my wheels don't touch.

My deck mows a thousand times better and after 13 years I only replaced the wheels or bearings once,, that was the first year.

Wow, sorry I did not see your post before today. Yesterday afternoon I took my 60" 914A to the junkyard and sold it for scrap since I could not get anyone interested in it for even $50 on craigs list for over 3 months.

I got $35 for the whole mower with wheels, drive shaft, gearbox, and blades.

Got tired of looking at it and it was in the way so it went to the scrap yard.

I would have been happy to strip off what ever you wanted and gave them to you for the price of shipping.

Wow, wish I would've know this. I would have made a trip to Jersey to get the whole thing. Lots of expensive parts there. The gear box sells for over $800 and I've broken mine and have it cobbled together.

Well, I had a thread on here a couple months ago and only got a couple comments on it. I was looking to find out what it would fit and mentioned I was selling it. If you want to call the scrapyard it is still probably in one piece. They are in Vineland, NJ about 35 miles south of Philly.

It weighs 340 pounds, shipping might be expensive.
