95 lurkers right now. Please register. It\'s free.

I lurked for about 3 days and quickly realized that I could learn a LOT more by posting some messages and getting feedback from thousands of years of real experience from the members on TBN. If you always lurk, you will never be able to ask and learn. You will be limited to the questions of others. If you are wondering, you will NOT get any emails or other unwanted stuff as the result of signing up. This is a forum for everyone to learn and share ideas. It is FREE!!! and I guarantee you will learn a lot more by participating than lurking. Go ahead and sign up!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I was lurking about on TBN and saw your post, so I logged in to reply. I usually do not login when reading posts. On my browser anyway, I get a lot more items per page when I am not logged in, I find it more convenient this way. Perhaps other members do too. I will now logout to continue reading posts.

I'm confused. Why would you log out to read? I log in and stay connected while reading all the various posts. I have a slow speed 3 meg connection rate instead of the 6 or 10 meg faster rates. Posts come up quickly and I stay on line. A page usually shows 20-25 or so messages at a time until you open one.

You can change your preferences so that you get more per page. For instance I have mine set at 45 posts per page and 45 threads per page. Much less page loading that way though it does take a wee bit longer for the pages to load, but still quicker than loading each individual page.

If I don't log in, the forums I've already read are not grayed out, then I have to decide what I've read and what I haven't. For me, definitely better to log in.

But I'm sure I don't use all the options to make it the easiest.

jwstewar, I will poke around the preferences as you suggest. Really, the small number of posts per page is the only reason I am not usually logged in. BTW, I grew up in Columbus and used to drive around southern OH all the time. Where are you?

I just changed my preferences to more posts per page. Now I will always login. Thanks.

While some of you are now visiting the preferences setup for the first time, how many of you are changing the background colors to match your favorite brand? If you have a Kubota, JD, etc you can set the pages to match your tractors colors.

Come on lurkers, sign up!!!!!

I actually live in Chillicothe (actually South-East toward Londonderry of Rt. 50) and work in Columbus so I pretty much do a tour of Southern Ohio every day. Like the job and the money in Columbus, but I like coming home to bigger yards and cheaper (relative /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif) houses.

I have been a member for four years now. I have been your typical 'lurker' for the most part untill recently. So after all this time, why am I shown as a visitor?
