951 rotary cutter

front seal is leaking on gear box but I can't get slip clutch off don't think it's original at less not according to parts manual Mine has big nut on back with great lakes industries inc. written on it with spring spring clip in front to keep on spline. Any body no what type I have & how it comes apart.

Some pictures or more detail on the cutter might help. I have the 954-60" with the slip clutch. There's two types of clutches and neither looks exactly like the one on mine but very similar. Ford may have sourced the clutches from different mfgs. or your gear box has been replaced. It doesn't appear the 951 used a clutch on models of 48, 60 and 72". These used a shear pin. That's why more detail about your cutter is needed.

Ditto that.. or at least that's what my manual says.

There should be a retianer pin or bolt that hold s it on.. etc. what do you see? can you post pics?

I'll have my kid post pictures. That's above my pay grade. I did find on New Holland parts online under model 505 almost the same slip clutch. spring clip in front but nut on back is different.also no snap ring or plug clutch nut or lock nut to hub #24,25,30,

There's a point in life when you have to call your kids to do something and then you know they're in the driver's seat. Did you raise them to make you obsolete? YES!

Hope you get your mower straightened out. I can't think of anything more straightforward than a 951 mower.
