99 Kioti LK 3504 broken Steering Sector Shaft

I broke the Steering Sector shaft on my tractor and desperately need some advice and assistance. I have ordered and received a new Sector Shaft but I cannot remove the broken one. I have removed the cover on the right side of the steering box but the 3 teeth on the sector shaft hit on the bottom of the steering box when I try to pull the broken one out. Please help!
