ok, just got the new NAA piston assembly fit to a spare lift cover I had lying around and installed it in the tractor - I replaced the old (working/leaking) lift cover & assembly with a spare I refurbished (fresh paint & grease, cork friction disc, honed cyl NAA piston, CNH O-ring and leather backer)
Now I've got it on and the cyl leaks down when you turn the tractor off! that's without an implement on it! Push the clutch in and it'll drop with an implement... Sometimes it won't come down unless you shut the tractor off. It bucks and twitches most of the time it's up if the throttle's low.
I'm thinking it's the control valve on the pump.... or is it the safety valve?
Twitching means I need to tighten up the freshly painted draft spring right?
I've yanked the cover and there's no leakage from the cyl or at the lift cover gaskets - no oil spurting out a cracked transfer tube... I don't see swirling in the sump other than the yolks pumping.
Ideas, advice?
