9N hydraulic mods? Anyone seen / done anything?

Anyone out there know how to modify the hydraulics on a 9n? A guy told me he'd blocked his port from the pump (through the trans housing) and tee'd off the inspection port, running 2 shutoffs by drilling and tapping the top plate so he could route the fluid to the lift arms or the front bucket he put on.

It seems pretty straight forward to me but I was wondering if anyone knew what type of flow I'd see.
