a/c for the hpx

i am thinkin of puttin a peice of plexi glass in the back of my cab and mounting a little 5,ooo btu a/c and running it off a honda generater. i am going to drill some hole so i can make the unite removable (wing nuts) i'm gonna weld the bolts in the holes and make two windows . one with the a/c unite mounted to it and one without the unit . any ideas to make it better or has anyone tried this and it failed?the a/c'are very small and the generators are small too not to mention they are very quiet.i could alwasy use a power cnverter but i have my winch and my head lights running off of the battery not to mention i got two sets of 55 watt driving lights mounted on a light bar on top the cab.and i plan on adding some rear lights next week so the generater is pretty much the only way to go.
so has anyone done this before?

Can you provide a link to the AC unit you're looking at?

Don't know for sure until you provide the specs but an inverter with it's own deep-cycle marine battery may supply enough juice. I'm no electrical guru but I understand you can incorporate an isolator which will make it whereby your main HPX battery won't be used to run the AC but your HPX charging system will charge both batteries. Go
here and do a search for isolator or deep cycle or something like that for more thoughts.
I have a 1200/2400w invertor on a large deep-cycle battery and can run things for hours with no re-charge before it starts going down.

well any type of 5,000 btu a/c unit really . i was going to get one at wal mart i don't really know the model of it. i wish they made them a little smaller than 5,000 btu's i have a 5,200 btu a/c in my window of my house and it says 5 amps 535 watts 15 amps max. so i would think a 5,000 btu would probably be around 500 watts and around the same amps.
