Mahindra 3016 shuttle 4 wd
Hello. I知 a newbie here and am hoping to get some good advice. Keep in mind that I am no mechanic at all but hope with good guidance to be able to remedy this myself. I have a mahindra 3016 shuttle 4 wd. I noticed last year as I plowed that it would bog down, almost stop, then the engine would catch up and it would continue on. As the year went by it seemed to get worse. I adjusted the freeness in the church pedal and it seemed to help some.

I cranked it for the first time in several months and began to notice more sluggishness. T it even began to struggle going up a slight hill. Sometime with no strain at all. No plow. No attachment at all. Engine would be running strong but it would slow going up a slight hill.

My question is is this a clutch issue? Some threads seem to point to a fuel issue but it never seems to not run wide open as this occurs. How can I know if it痴 clutch or transmission or fuel?

I have ordered all new filters and plan to go through and change fluids and filters and see if this makes any difference. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Scott

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter or some other obstruction in the fuel supply.

Best way to know if its the clutch is to watch the tach when it bogs and then engine picks up again...if the engine winds up without corresponding "wheel turning", its the clutch...although new filters/fuel check system wouldn't hurt either. BobG in VA

I ordered a set of filters and plan to go thru and service my tractor hopefully soon. I’m planning to replace all filters and fluids and if I can figure it all out I plan to try to remove the fuel tank and clean it out and clean the lines to the fuel filter. Any issues that I may run into? Should I be concerned with air in lines etc?

Thanks
Scott

After changing filter you will need to follow the procedure to bleed the air out. Typically their is a bleed screw and hopefully a little primer pump on top of the filter housing.....hopefully someone else will weigh in on that specific model.
I wouldn’t automatically remove the tank. Pull the line that goes to the bottom of the tank as far from the tank as you can and drain the fuel. If it’s slow, clean the tank. If it isn’t slow that isn’t the issue.

This sounds just like my 5010 gear drive issue. I adjusted clutch and improved a little.

Well, today I replace every filter and every drop of fluid in the tractor. I adjusted the clutch pedal and even the brake pedal Incase it was causing my issue. Once I got thru I eagerly ran it a few minutes but sadly nothing has changed. Under zero strain other than going over a small terrace the tractor wouldn’t go. Engine was running strong, never bogged down or anything, just wouldn’t go. Four wheel drive doesn’t seem to make a difference. I then went and pushed a small pile of brush up to burn and it would do the same under a small small pile of brush. I am puzzled and not sure what to do next.

I know mahindra has the 5 year warranty and I got it in 2015. Should I contact them? Should I find a local tractor mechanic? All suggestions are appreciated

Scott

If the clutch is out there is a good chance warranty will not cover it.(unless it was a mfg. issue that caused it)
Considered a wear item.

If the engine is maintaining rpm and the wheels slow or stop turning it’s almost certainly a clutch. Do you ride the clutch a lot?

How did you adjust your clutch?
