Kubota B7100
Hello all.

As I was scrolling back through the Kubota pricing section I came upon a thread that read "B7100 craig list scam" as I recently bought a B7100 off of craig's list I was curious to read this post. To my astonishment this post read.

" MLD, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

What is this about? I'm almost a computer illiterate and to try to edit someone else's post would be impossible for this old dinosaur's limited abilities and something I would NEVER do anyway!

The signature on the thread was "Art red bird" is this someone here on TBN that monitors the posts. Any info on this mystery would be much appreciated.

This question should be in the "News/Feedback" section but that's another point... :) I get that error message once in awhile, I don't think it's anything personal  most likely a bad link. TBN doesn't like links to Craig's list and Ebay type places (first off because the links go dead but secondly they don't have control over the other site) It might be that the page was deleted...

The B7100 was most likely selling at 1/3 to 1/4 of the price you paid and was most likely listed on dozens of Craig's list sites...

MLD. I talked to admin about why they did this to you? They told me they just don't like you!

Just Kidding!!!!!

They sometime will LOCK/ CLOSE a board....If you look to the left of main topic you will see a padlock..telling you the board has been locked or closed.

Because of the number of scams on craigslist and ebay, links to those two websites are no longer allowed on Tractorbynet. You got the message you did because the post you were trying to see had been removed by one of the moderators. No real mystery, and no real problem.

As a matter of fact, I was the one who removed that thread on the 18th of last month and I sent a PM to the originator telling him why it was removed. Apparently I failed to remove the "redirect" so I just now did that and it should expire and disappear in one hour. Sorry about that.

IMO. Its a real disservice to the tractor community to be doing anything to limit the visibility of these warnings. Many, many people are duped by those postings. I personaly hear of a customer every two months or so who has seen them and thinks they are legit. I would not hesitate to say that there should be a forum section dedicated to fraud and theft.

I most humbly agree. This problem seems to be growing, and most likely will continue to do so. The community of TBN has the knowledge and many the desire to help identify these scams so that others don't fall victim.

Like me, I'm sure many members don't miss what hits the used market in their area always looking for the next must-have! Most also know a scam when they see it and I feel it would add value to use this vigilance to warn others in the TBN community.

I don't think anyone is trying to limit the visibility of any warnings. And you can certainly post warnings about scams; just not links to ebay and craigslist.

1. If someone does fall for a scam, we don't want them claiming to have learned about the sale on Tractorbynet and blaming Tractorbynet for sending them to that particular site (as has happened).

2. If you learn of a scam on one of those sites, why would you want to post a link to it to direct others to see it instead of notifying ebay or craigslist to remove the scam? And if it's removed, then the link would no longer be any good anyway.

Now keep in mind that I'm only a volunteer moderator; not an employee or administrator, etc. of TBN, so I have nothing to do with making any of the rules. If you think there's a rule that should be changed, you need to send a PM to Muhammad with your recommendation.
