Yesterday I was hooking up the FEl & 3 point bail spears. I had 41 4x4 rolls in the pasture to put away. I smelled raw fuel & found that fuel was dripping out of the clear fuel bowl. I remember Island Tractors post on the faulty clear bowls but forgot to pick up a back-up. My dealer was already closed for the day and rain was forecast for this holiday weekend.
So, I needed a temp fix to get me throught until Tuesday. My first attempt was wrapping Gorilla tape around the outside of the bowl...no go, it still dripped just as fast. My next try was the trusty JB Weld. I mixed up a batch & painted the inside of the bowl where the fractures could be seen. I let it set overnight and bingo...no leak.
I just thought I'd post this in case it happens to anyone else & they really need their tractor & can't get a new bowl asap.
