My father has a JD 335 tractor that has about 80 hours on it, all mowing. I bought it for him two Father's Days ago. It has the 48C deck. It has been kept inside and serviced at the 10 hour and 50 hour point. My father is older (77) and his hand/eye coordination is not the best. He has bumped a couple trees with it and has placed a fairly deep scratch on the left fender from an encounter with a low hanging limb. He has not broken any of the composite panels on the front hood, etc. To me, I would say the mower looks a bit beyond 80 hours, but I am much more particular about keeping machines clean and maintained than my Dad. I have recently used it and it runs and mows quite well, in spite of the mild cosmetic damage. My local dealer and friend has agreed to sell this machine for me. I am going to give my Dad my 757 ZTR to mow with as long as he can until we will have to hire it out. How much would a fair asking price be for such a machine and what would be a fair and nice amount to pay the dealer for moving it for me??? Also, how would the group think one of these machines would sell, given the market for ZTR's these days???

The market is always strong for Deere garden tractors, so I wouldn't worry about it selling. As to a fair price, sight unseen, I'd guess that 2/3 to 3/4 of what it cost new, and the dealer will tell you what he wants, but I would think anything more than 10% would be high.
