Never really got all the electrics to work when we got our crate tractor a few years ago. Now it's time to rewire it. I have the individual guages, not the cluster. I know some have replaced the oil pressure guage with a different one, what was it?
Also the tank always leaks, wasn't there a fix for that also, the gasket on top or something?
Any other tips you can give is always appreciated.
Thanks and wish me luck!

Hi Randy,
Usually its the gasket on the fuel tank sending unit that leaks. You could try tightening the screws but a gasket is made easily from cardboard. I would suggest gasket replacement.
They do have the individual gauges available from our dealers but you could also eliminate the electric gauges by installing direct reading oil pressure, temp gauge and a voltmeter (your choice) or ammeter. Takes a little rewiring for the volt or ammeter gauge but its pretty easy.

Hey Randy,

My fuel tank was leaking a little bit too, but it was when I filled it completely up. I traced my leakage to the sending unit on top. I then checked all of the screws, holding the sending unit in place, and they were all loose. It took a 90 degree elbow screwdriver or you may be able to do it with a very small ratchet type screw driver, but the working space between the cowling and the top of the fuel tank is very limited.

I haven't noticed it leaking any more, since I tightened all of the screws up.

I've been using this winter season, as a good time to do a lot of loose bolt checking and tightening-- Hydraulic pump, radiator hold downs, and you may also want to check the inlet hydraulic filter assembly holddown bolts.

Turn the Heaters and the Radio on and it won't be nearly as hard, working on your tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Best of luck
