My local dealer has just finished the 100 hr service on my 491. Included in this was a near complete rework of my Hyd system(the "plumbing" at least). It does work my 1060 fel quicker now but my question is what was the reason for the rework? My dealer is unsure as to why it was necessary - something "just about a service notice on these tractors to upgrade the hyd system". I love the tractor - by far the best $ per hp in a 70-80 pto hp cab 4wd tractor in my area.

I was at a dealer meeting last January and there was quite a bit of discussion about the 400 series and some service issues. Massey service folks talked about some problems with the hydraulics and the steps they were taking address some failures they had experienced.

I think it is great they have addressed the issue and are fixing the potentially affected units.

It was good service - I even got my 100 hr hyd fluid/filter for free /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. I'm pleased with the deal I got, my dealer after the sale, and the tractor itself.

It sure is nice to hear about a dealer that can step up to the plate and take care of a customer the way it should be. I does sounds your dealer is a keeper. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
