The rain here in southern Missouri has held me off from plowing and planting like I had planned, but we recently have experienced just the right amount of rain and sunshine to make for optimal plowing conditions. I have been dying to get my L3130 out of the barn and into the dirt, so I spent the weekend pulling a fifty year old Ford two bottom plow through my creek bottom field and followed it with a good discing. I plowed the field for the first time in many years last fall, and I found that this second turning was much easier. The ground simply folded over and crumbled perfectly under the disc. Next will be planting of millet, milo and sunflower. I wish I had a planter, but a spreader followed by a field drag harrow should do the trick for the food plots. Hope you all are having a good spring as well.
