I hauled a buddy's 8N over the weekend. He uses it every winter for snow removal, its in great working condition!

There is a lot to love about those little guys! But they are not as handy or as useful as a newer tractor with more features. More features equal more problems though and for having an extra tractor around one of those would be great to have.

Back blade are good if you don't get a lot of snow at one time. For big snow I use a front blade but this will also require chains or wheel weights. It loks to be in good shape.

From the mid 70s until the end of 2013 my dad used an 8N to do everything on our property, including snow removal and growing a 1.5 acre market garden. Even as far as old tractors go, they leave a lot to be desired, but with a little creativity and patience you sure can do a lot with them, and they're built to run for a LONG time.
