A little help please

Hey guys i posted in the repairs section and then was advised to post here aswell

I have a Steiner 410 with an LX 790 Linamar engine with a Nikki carb. The carb is running far to rich (literally you can see the mist of fuel shooting out the breather) I have been through the carb and installed a rebulid kit. everything looks okay but yet i cannot get the mixture to lean out.. There does not seem to be any fuel or air adjustment on this carb and i am not very familiar with these units.. if anyone has any tips or starting points that would be great as I have been through it a few times now and cannot seem to come across the source of this wrong fuel/air mixture!

Wish I could help you... I've got a Ventrac with a diesel (so I don't have carb/ignition problems)...

Oh im sure ill figure it out eventually it just really blows removing this carb over and over again as it bolts to the manifold from the bottom side and it is possible to remove it without removing that manifold but it requires some knuckle bashing!

Well, my current experience with carb tuning is with my son's motor bike. But, it has replaceable jets/springs and fuel level is set by the float. Your description seems to be of a diaphragm type carb. If so, strip it down, spray it out with carb cleaner and compressed air; then put a new kit of rubber parts in it. The carb body may have a brand on it or a letter such as "Z" for Zamo or "T" for Tittelson or such. Walbro is another popular brand.
