a little miss

i thought i had a buyer for the 1020, but he pointed out a little miss in the engine..i guess i have got so use to it i hadn't noticed..so now i try to figure this out??? it still belches some black smoke when you open the throttle, so i am going to start with the carb and try to solve that first, maybe thats the cause of the miss, then the firing system?? maybe a different mechanic this time if i can't solve it myself..

well, i finally went back to the basics, and got my ohm meter out an checked the plug wires..then bought new wires and plugs, and now there is no miss, and the 1020 starts better than it has since i bought it in 89..
