over the last couple of days. Its nothing special, just something to sit next to and chill. I'm new to fish ponds, so if anyone has hints and tips please share :)

Its actually more level than it appears in this next pic,

In a couple of the pics you can see the Kubota peeking in

Something soothing about running water, is that recycled via a pump set up?

Looks good! I had one at my previous house, not a preformed shell but a big flexible piece of vinyl. Add some marginal plants, a water lily or two in the middle, and a few big goldfish and you're done. I never had to feed my goldfish, they ate whatever fell into the pond. That is, they ate until they were eaten! Although I lived in a subdivision, a great blue heron spotted the goldfish from above, and wiped out my pond in one sitting. I replaced the fish though and thankfully the heron never showed up again.

Looks good General Lee. I know you will enjoy it. A fews years back my wife and I contructed this little water fall that we can sit on our screen porch and enjoy. Did not have my tractor at the time, but I wish I had.

The rocks came from the land next door to me, from chimneys of old houses from another era. I also have several of these rocks as flower bed border. My wife and I hauled them with 4-wheeler trailer and truck. The water is supplied via my irrigation system, 2hp pump pulling water from the lake.

As you have said, it is so peaceful to sit (or lie on the couch) and listen to the flowing water.

Yes, I took the water pump that supplies water to the fall and made a filter on it. A basket with holes, pea gravel and cotton fiber filter element. Not sure how well it will do.

Very nice waterfall, looks natural in that location. I wouldn't mind having one of those myself.

Hey General, Looks very good, Now just be sure not to look over at Lawnsite.com or you will be putting in effects lighting adding a paver patio with mandantory pergola and of course your new grille...

Then when you have your breakin it in party some drunk thinks your pond is a "Hot-tub" :confused2:

All kidding aside they are a nice addition, I'm thinking about another one since my wife doesn't want to move anytime soon..

I ended up with a laguna uv filter for a 1500 gal pond and pump for same that uses less than 100 watts to run.

Anything less than the amount of water to be filtered didn't quite keep the water from turning green due to algae.

Mine is in full sun causing good algae growth if your in shade it won't be as bad... If you do goldfish expect to lose 50% when first introduced.

I have had goldfish in mine for over 3 yrs. now and take the pump out every winter and empty the filter..

The fish winter over just fine Note: Do not feed fish at all during winter.. system slows down and food would rot in their gut, killing them..

Say what part of Md?
