By now i'm sure you heard the news. Buffalo, New York and the surrounding suburbs are back in for the disasterous weather. It looks like someone flew a helicoptor upside down and took all the tree limbs off. The tc30 is coming out and maybe I can recoup some of my expense by pushing limbs, we'll see what happens. My hats off to Nationalgrid and NYSEG, the two local electric companies for doing an unbelievable job of getting us back into the 21st century. Debris cleanup will be another story, probally months, but that more seat time for me, I hope.

That sure is a pretty picture, but I'm glad that white stuff is up there instead of down here.;)

Byron,

I had the grandkids at my place for three nights. My kids lost their power and actually my whole neighborhood lost theirs except me. I work for a utility company and could have put some serious hours in but I had a lot of cleanup myself and helped take care of the grandkids etc. Quite a catastrophic event once again. Driving around while working it was pretty depressing looking at constant tree branches and wires strewn across the roads. Transformers and poles were also quite common in the roads and no traffic lights working. I have to say the people in WNY have a lot of patience when it comes to a serious event. Traffic lights may be out but people stop at the intersections and politely let people take their turns crossing them. Neighbors helping neighbors is commonplace. Another test of human nature. Hopefully all will be back to normal in a few more days. Buffalo is known as the city of trees but the Almighty Arborist did a whole lot of trimming.
