For years, my front yard flooded every spring and fall. This year, I took baby and her new tooth into the yard dragged the new tooth through the yard.

Baby and her tooth (111 KB)

Just as we're almost finished tearing up the ground, baby comes to a complete stop with her wheels churning. I drop her into four wheel drive, but she still spins her wheels. I lock her rear wheels, but she still goes no-wheres fast! Finally, I try backing up and going forward. No dice! I put her in third gear and try again! Still a no-go! Sixth gear and wide open throttle! I feel a satisfying "POP!" and baby continues her task of loosening up mother earth. As I got to the end of the run, I lift the tooth and notice a 20 foot chunk of cable. "That's odd!" I thought. I threw the cable away and take baby into the back yard and give her a bath. Three days later, I noticed I hadn't gotten any phone calls. That's RIGHT! That cable was my telephone cable to the house and shop! You know something? I never realized how much stress the telephone places in one's life. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Now that really bites. I'm surprised that you didn't know about the underground cable in your yard. Did you put the cable in?

Great idea!! Makes me want to dig mine up too, and throw the cell phones into the hole to boot.

Nice picture.

The only thing I would miss without the phone line would be TBN!!!! So far I have managed to not have a cell phone, don't want work to be able to find me when I'm working/playing on my own time.

Gee, my wife would have figured it out within an half hour /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif as she is on the phone most all the time. In fact she probably would have gotten cut off and noticed it immediately. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the welcome John!

Recently, the utility company came in and put the electricity lines underground. Before they could bury the cables, the cable TV company came in and dropped their lines in the ditch. The phone company came in too late and had to bury their own cables. They did not bury their cable to code, so it was too close to the surface. That was actually a good thing for me because I would have had to pay if they were buried to code. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'm a single parent of two girls. I was surprised that THEY didn't notice! I know my ex would have noticed with-in a millisecond of the incident! I swear she had the phone JB welded to her ear! Maybe I'm raising my girls right. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Later: More adventures of Baby!
