A new rear tire with an old one

/ A new rear tire with an old one #11
Variation on a theme. I have a JD 2240 with loaded rear 16.9 / 28's. They are original twenty year old tires and both have side wall cracks. One is weeping the calcium liquid slowly. An old friend says to not worry but run' em til' they drop. Is this wise? perhaps the time has come to buy baby new shoes ...?

If they are in as bad shape as it sounds I would go for new , if working on a hill side slope and the low side one would blow out the tractor might roll.

Don't forget Tucker Tires, they list on ebay all the time, and have tires already mounted on rims. Will ship very reasonable rates, and mostly advertise for a pair. They have 8 ply ratings. Have bought several tire pairs from them and am extremely happy. They are great to talk to and deal with.
