At the very least get the owners manual. Lot's of places you can order from including the New Holland dealerships. I have a ton of old machinery from auctions and that's the first stop I make to get what you need.

I'll just add, I bought an old Massey swather from a guy. He told me one bearing had to be replaced quit often because of the tension on one of the belts. The guy that sold it to him said the belt had to be "fiddle string tight". Well in the manual, it says the belt " should NOT be fiddle string tight". There's also all those hidden grease nipples and chain tension settings that you'll probably find in the manual.

A New Holland dealer should have what you need. I would also check eBay as I've had good luck finding original manuals for older equipment without paying the high cost at a dealer.

I know the hard way the input shaft for the tranny is prone to breakage. I think I have the factory service manual that is brand new. thumbed through a couple times. When I found out what a big deal it was to swap the input shaft I traded it off.

you might try... newholland website of ford. ford newholland in idea same company. just different names. ford = vehicles, newholland = tractors.

it has been over a year or more since i went looking, but you may have to click into the "agriculture" section for manuals on the newholland website, or you may have to click on lawn care or something. pending if tractor is more of a riding mower vs a tractor.

i know newholland/ford has a dedicated website for "parts" were i can type in model number, and get a detailed view of all parts and part numbers. along with diagrams of parts.

personally prefer shop manuals, they normally give in depth descriptions and how to tear something apart and put it back together and to test this or that.

the owners operating manual, more likely give you info about what type of oil, how long between servicing filters, what gear to place tractor in, to do this or that.

make sure you get a manual for a 5600 and not a 5000, it it is in fact a 5600.

there are a few differences..

1, the hyds filter should be WAY easier to change on that 5600. she will have dropped back tot he smaller engine similar to what an early 5000 had..like a 233 vs the 256, but you won't miss it any.. ( unless it's a BPS then it could have the 256 ).

probably has the trusty 8spd crashbox.. but might have dual power.. a plus!

pto is independent.. shifter is onthe left side, aft of your heel.

a 5600 should have a common sump rear end.

if nothing else, get an I&T shop manual for her, and the owners manual sure won't hurt.

utf fluid meeting the ford spec M2C134 is what she takes in all sumps but the engine.

in the crancase i'd put a 15w40 C rated oil unless in the arctic.
