Thanks guys. As is obvious - I still have some "learning" to do with my new smart phone. It WAS a nice sunset. Then about half an hour later my Chocolate Lab came inside. He had been down romping in the cattails. PHEW, Oh, DOUBLE PHEW - he smelled real PONDIE!!! And does he settle down on his own little rug - Heavens NO. Right in the middle of the davenport.

Ha, ha, ha - such is life in the country.

Ha, ha - Well, Sig - the Power Wagon is back about 250 feet - in the carport. Quiet, peaceful picture - right. This pic is taken off the front porch of my house. From the front porch to the edge of the lake - about 150 feet.

Right now - all the ground between the house and the lake is SOOOOO soggy - even walking out there will leave 3" deep foot prints. If I drove the PW out there - I had better have a good winch point already figured out. I wouldn't even consider driving the M6040 out there right now.

For the next three weeks or so - there is NO good reason to venture out ANYWHERE on my 80 acres. This time of year the 40" of snow is soaked up in the 2.5 to 3.0 feet of soil lying over solid bedrock. It's exactly like a totally water saturated sponge lying on top of your granite counter top.View attachment 597674 Here is the Power Wagon - safely back in its carport stall. Give it another month and it will, again, be dry as a popcorn fart - and dusty.

One season I don't miss way up north, mud. Do you have a fly season as well?

Yea - I do have a fly season. There are lots of them - having the little lake right off the front porch. I have hundreds of cliff swallows that nest on the vertical basalt cliffs around the little lake. During the entire year - it would be quite unusual if I got more than 3 or 4 mosquito bites. Spent time( 20+ years ) in Alaska where you had to "bathe" in mosquito repellent AND smoke FEELTHEE cigars. Around here I never have to use any type repellent - just check for ticks.

Good Afternoon oosik,

Beautiful shot off a great sunset !! I can relate to the tractor sinking in the mud this time of year !:)

OH, BOY - do I ever have the experience with my previous tractor and this time of year. I got it stuck three times - way out on the property. The last time I was stuck - just left it there for two weeks, until things dried out.

I've learned my lesson - I can DEFINITELY wait with the M6040. The way it is set up now - it weighs 10,100#.

As pretty as that sunset was - it usually means that we have weather coming this way.
