Has there ever been a time in history when there has been so much absolute rubbish available to waste money on? What sort of fool would spend their hard earned money to actually BUY a ring tone, or pay $3 every day for a joke or horoscope to be delivered on the phone? Does anyone really believe that if you text LOVE to 1800 SUCKER you'll really find true romance?

And thats just the kind of mindless expense you can incur without even leaving the couch. The list of totally stupid things you can waste money on today is mind-boggling. Hardware stores and supermarkets are full of it to. One good thing about the financial crisis is that its giving some people a reality check about the real value of money.

I agree thanks for the wake up call I have always accessed my purchases to a high degree. Bu there is allot of spur of the moment spending. I guess its good overall. like they say "A sucker born everyday"
You can see this with what sells on e-bay etc. People pay big money for stupid stuff. What matters I guess is that its worth it to them.

Interesting observation tho.

My son bought a CD that will allow you to take any mp3 song and make it a ring tone. I think it cost him $2 in the close out bin.

I "like" the ads leading up to Christmas from the high end cars making good presents, yeah right. Then there is one I hear on the radio about having a star named after you. Registered too! Oh' and call for your free CD from Internet Speedway on how to make a bundle off of the net.

We have become a debtor nation. If it wasn't for the stupidity and greed, we wouldn't be in this mess.

What the heck is wrong with, "RING!...RING!...RING!"? Call me old fashioned, but I don't need some absurd song or other noise playing to tell me to answer the phone.

Look at it from the other side... if you could develop a product that people would gladly pay you for, would you do it?:) I'm pretty frugal, but I occasionally buy a pop from a machine if I want one.

Well i have a deed that says I own two parcels on the moon. LOL I'm sure mys sister is till probably paying interest on this purchase of two years ago.
what amazes me is the amount spent on some items after people add in the interest.
