Watching the news coverage of the disaster in the USA I find any problems that I have pale in comparison. I sit high enough on a hill to be able to see the city and although they were small, I could still recognize the outlines of the twin towers on a clear day.
Yesterday they were there in the early morning when I got up and then they were gone along with hundreds if not thousands of innocent people.
I have a number of friends living here in the country who commute to fire and police jobs in the city. I fear that many of them will not return.
This is a very sad day for America and for everyone in the free world.
God bless those who will not return and also those who are working around the clock looking for survivors.
Life as we knew it will never be the same but we are Americans and we WILL survive.
