Hi Jim,

I'll be sorry to see you go too. I guess I didn't think of myself as a long term member until now. I also remember the hp/acre discussions. I think I said that my friend has 25hsp lawn and garden tractor for two and a half acres. I than (jokingly) said that I'm looking for a 120 hsp tractor to cut my lawn! Best of luck in the future. You should definitely lurk around and add commentary as you see fit.

Meanwhile, the only mowing equipment that I have is an old lawn boy self-propelled and a craftsman line trimmer.

All this HP per acre makes me feel good downsizing my 55HP from 40+ acres to 1.28

Thats only 43 HP per Acre. Surely within reason compared to BIrd's

Jim,
Went through the same thing a year ago. That's why I was away for awhile. Fortunately I was able to hold on to the property.
Look at it this way. The first several months I could not even get on the tractor and look at the house without tears. I was so proud her and I could finally afford to get the tractor. During the 3 or so hours it took to cut the lawn I would look up and see her working up by the house or see her through the kitchen window. I almost sold everything to not have that feeling. Start thinking of what your going to upgrade to. It won't be long and you'll be the one up here with your new tractor and I'll be jealous of you....
