I purchased a used 3 pt. disc harrow and I need parts. The disc harrow was made in Neodesha, KS by Southeastern Manufacturing Co., Inc. and I believe is 6 1/2 feet in width. It appears that Southeastern is out of business as there is no phone listing for the company and no internet info. The harrow is very adjustable and I hate to give it up, I need bearings, spacers and what I think is called a boxing assembly (it houses the bearings)? Would Central Tractor carry something like this? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Take parts to a King Kutter or Leinbach dealer, might be the same.

Edward,
If you have an old time dealer (one that's been the business along time) they will be able to tell you what brands will likely fit. Most old time dealers have some NOS parts still around.

I have an old Ford disk I am interested in parting out. I will try to get picture and detailed information to post for you. I know the blades and some of the spacers are bad but there are some salvageable parts on it. I believe it was made by Deerborn (spelling?) for Ford.

When it comes to discs, there are basically two types ( I said basically.. there may be other variants ).
1, the newer sealed bearing type. Uses some sort of roller bearing.. and is sealed... Havn'r used one before.. don't know how well they hold up.
2, The 'gray iron' bearing models, that use cylindrical spacers with flared ends that contact the discs. Each side of the 'gang' will usually have one bearing.. which is nothing more than a grooved carrier that fits over a grooved cylinder similar to the spacers. Usually has 1-2 grease fittings on it.
Simple design... uses lots of grease.. collects debri, and seems designed to wear out. A poor design in my opinion.. but looks like farmers have used them for years and years.

I know that both howse ( at TSC ) and new holland dealerships carry both styles of discs. A tractor dealership that carries a similiar disc is most certainly going to be able to get replacement parts for its equipment.
