My Massey was covered in some kind of plastic type stuff, motor and all, no rust and it was a prior year leftover. I assume they applied whatever it is because it ships on a boat in salt water.. Maybe some don't do a very good job at protecting the equipment, don't know..

Makes sense. I saw several crated units on the lot and none appeared to have any kind of plastic around the crate or any protection on the unit itself. The Kubota dealer had one or two crated units in the open, but I believe the rest of the inventory was stored in their storage barn. I'm sure some dealers care more than others which, in my mind, is an indicator of how much they will care about other things when the time comes.
